Transformation as a Rebirth

A flower in sunlight

When I gave birth, I experienced rebirth. Being a new mum to a now seventeen-month-old has proven to be my most transformational and sacred work. Being a mum has allowed me to understand the transformational journey in a new light. It has helped me to understand and experience in a deeper way how much our personality and identity are tied to the transformation process. The role of personality and identity shapes us; it can constrict or empower us. Our personality traits and the associated ways we think and perceive, however, are often in our blind spot of awareness, and that's when they take control over us. This was the case for me. It took the catalyst of becoming a new mum to witness my deepest core beliefs rise to the surface of my psyche and awareness with great clarity. I also became aware of my limiting personality traits and patterns of thinking and expression, and how they had the power to influence me and shape my life experience. It was like numerous ah-huh moments strung together, which was both deeply uncomfortable and at times painful, yet also liberating to know my most hidden blocks.

Inner transformation is a journey of liberation where we are invited to dissolve the blocks that hold us back from embodying our highest potential. We then create the energetic space for the presence of our Higher Self to emerge and take the steering wheel in our lives. We then live in conscious co-creation with this higher presence within us to embody a more empowered identity, where we start living as our greatest, future self, in our present reality. You start feeling and living free. It is a process that truly liberates us. As I’m writing these words, the joy I feel is magnetic. I feel as if I am soaring in full momentum. It is an expanded feeling of freedom and clarity I have never felt before. I want this feeling for you. You see, what we truly want is to be free, to be free of suffering and free of limitation. This is my prayer, my intention for you, for all of us, and we can absolutely feel free, despite our circumstances. Moreover, when we feel free, our lives change for the better. This is because we have changed on the inside to embody our true power, a loving, limitless power where we feel free. This, to me, is the ultimate purpose of rebirth, the purpose of deep inner transformation. A process of deep unlearning to remember who we truly are. Freedom and joy are who you truly are. We have only forgotten due to our conditioned beliefs, programs and reflected reality. We have the power to feel free, embody our highest potential, and live an empowered life. It is the inner transformation process that guides you in unlearning who you are not, so that you may remember and embody who you truly are: a limitless, loving power of unconditional love.

The unlearning begins with a transformational shift in perception and a willingness to choose love over fear. This involves observing and learning from our inner shadows with a compassionate and open heart. It is here where real change can begin. It is here that liberation from limitation can be found. The catalyst for change and the yearning for deep inner transformation can be ignited in many ways. Often, it takes the experience of an emotional, spiritual or physical crisis to initiate the shift into change. It, however, doesn’t have to be that way. Your deep desire and willingness to go all in, to be completely vulnerable and open as you explore your inner world, is more than enough to maintain the will in the face of fear and the unknown. It is this fear that I want to demystify for you. Therefore, to paint a picture of what this might look like for you, I’m inspired to share my own deep transformation journey, which I am currently still integrating. It is an integration process of embodying the ‘consciousness software update’, so to speak, that continues to evolve in tandem with our deep desires and when we are ready to experience it.

Like many of you reading this, the journey of becoming a mum for the first time was my catalyst for deep transformational change. Pregnancy kick-started this process for me in unexpected ways. Memories of forgotten wounds and events that helped shape my limiting beliefs and persona would suddenly rise to the surface of my conscious awareness at various, seemingly random times. I knew that this was the start of a deep, sacred transformation, which felt like an initiation. I was presented with a humbling invitation to process my deep inner shadows, to heal, transmute and transform into a state of becoming. A state of becoming a mother, yes, but the feeling was also for something deeper, more expanded. It felt like it was coming from a deep soul level. The clarity, however, was far beyond me. I didn't know it at the time, but it was designed that way for a reason.

When I gave birth, the following months were both the happiest time of my life, but also the most challenging. I experienced postnatal anxiety and depression, and journeyed into the Dark Night of the Soul, an existential inner turmoil that initiates a rebirth through deep inner transformation. The Dark Night catalyses you into darkness so your true inner Light can be revealed and embodied through self-evolution. It forces you inward to face the distortions of your shadow self, facing your unhealed traumas, wounds, and limiting beliefs, all while feeling a disconnection from Spirit. It was this disconnection from something larger than myself that I found amongst the most challenging. This connection is what provides us faith, hope, inner strength beyond our will, and a sense of higher purpose. I had to journey to remember who I was spiritually, as my connection to Spirit felt deeply hidden in the unknown depths of my inner world. It was then that I had to draw on my knowledge, personality and personal will for inner strength and guidance. It highlighted limiting patterns and personality traits that needed to change so I could truly empower myself and others through a higher level of consciousness.

In this process of becoming and reconnecting to Spirit as my guiding light, I was reminded to be present and allow myself to release the core limiting beliefs and stories attached to my old identity, to who I once was, so that the person I am becoming can emerge fully. It highlighted to me how our limiting beliefs, which are at the core of our pain, suffering, and unfulfilling lives, are also strongly tied to our identity. As we process and transmute these beliefs, an imprint remains in our persona because we have identified with them on an unconscious level. The unconscious mind also embeds these programs in our body through neurobiology, which is why it can be so challenging to change. Therefore, we cannot truly embody the presence of our ‘future’ highest self, which aligns us to our highest potential, unless we address and shift our identity at its core; our personality and the core beliefs that have shaped it. When we do this, we change our behaviours and begin to carry and express ourselves in a new, empowered way. As a result, our reality then reflects our new empowered self. It is our personality, then, that helps shape our identity at our core and is the foundation of truly changing our reality. Dr Joe Dispenza, lecturer and researcher of quantum physics, neuroscience and epigenetics, sums this aspect up perfectly; ‘’When you change your personality, you change your personal reality”. Our beliefs and the stories we attach to ourselves influence our perceptions, how we relate to others, as well as our behaviours and the actions that we take.

Our core limiting beliefs are deeply rooted in our subconscious mind and largely formed in childhood. The deep transformation process then requires awareness and a replacement of these beliefs. This process is not linear, as we move through fear and empowerment, and back to fear again. Our empowered state of being will, however, start to become a new foundation on which we rebuild our psyche and personality. It is a foundation we will draw on greatly when we are at the precipice of shifting from our old self into our embodied, future highest self, where resistance and stuckness are often experienced. It is the ego and old identity trying to hold onto the familiar, to our known reality. We must cross, therefore, into the unknown to embody more wholefully who we truly are in this physical incarnation, that is aligned with our highest joy and highest purpose. It is through doing our shadow work, that is, our inner work of transmuting and transcending our emotional wounds, limiting beliefs and programs, where we truly become free to transform into our true, limitless selves.

These unconscious limiting beliefs and programs that trigger our negative emotions can be seen as sediment of a disturbed river bed floating to the water surface within us. It can feel dirty, uncomfortable and often painful. However, when awareness is brought to it, it can also be seen as beautiful, just like nature. This is the nature of deep inner transformation. It is both ugly and beautiful. It is during such challenging times, however, that we learn more about ourselves on a deeper level of awareness. It is only when we have self-awareness of our inner shadows that the transformation into an embodied, empowered state of being can begin. The key here is not fearing our inner shadows, but looking inward to these wise teachers with self-compassion. By having this perspective, we can remain open and receptive to receiving its wisdom and clarity. We become aware of how the associated beliefs and programs from our old selves have blocked us from embodying our highest self that expresses our highest potential. Once we transmute and transcend our beliefs and programs, we become free from our past and become who we truly are. It’s a pathway to true liberation. We then have the elevated awareness to receive and take aligned actions with our higher consciousness, your Higher Self. It is within this embodied higher state of consciousness that we fearlessly step into our highest potential, because that is who we have evolved to become.

When we change on the level of the personality, it filters through to all other aspects of our identity and outer reality. It is inner and outer evolution, as when we evolve our psyche and start embodying a higher consciousness, our outer reality also mirrors the evolution on the inside. You see, you are not changing into someone else; rather, you are shifting to who you truly are. This version of you already exists within the quantum field of consciousness, the Oneness consciousness that is within you, is you, and is all around you. It is your future self embodying your higher consciousness and potentiality, and this version of you is already living your dream life. This field of consciousness is the very foundation of your being's energy, of all energy, of all reality. Therefore, when you shift your personality and identity to align with this future version of yourself, you draw this person into your present reality by embodying the qualities they already possess and taking the inspired actions they already take. This, alongside our shadow work, activates the process of remembering and the transformation into our highest selves. Having cleared our limiting energy, we can fearlessly step into our highest potential, with clarity and purpose.

These sacred initiations of the deep transformation process remind us of who we are not, so that we can remember and embrace who we truly are. You see, it’s the process of remembering who you truly are that creates true lasting self-empowerment. It is a process we are continuously integrating and embodying. It is a process initiated from the deepest level of your being, from the intention of your soul, designed to break you open and trigger a self-evolution that carries you into the remembrance of your true, limitless self. The conditions that break you open do not have to be a crisis, but a deep willingness and conviction to journey deeper within yourself, to surrender to the shadows to transform them into light. Your conviction of intention, and being grounded in your heart, will declare to your soul and the universe that you are ready to be who you were born to be.

Your dreams are in your hands. The journey of change is not always easy, but it is necessary if we are to embody who we truly are and our highest potential, that is in conscious co-creation with the infinite intelligence of the Universe within us.
